Arts education
JSW Creative’s arts education & training consultancy is managed by Sophie Watkiss, BA (Hons), MA. Prior to setting up this branch of the company in 2004, Sophie was Head of Education at the V&A’s Theatre Museum and has over twenty years experience as a teacher, trainer, project manager and theatre educator.
She is contracted to a range of arts organisations, including the Donmar Warehouse, Covent Garden, where, over the last 5 years, she has worked in partnership with the theatre’s development department to establish DONMAR EDUCATION. In recognition for her work, she was appointed Education Associate to the Domnar in 2008 and has since supported the organisation in designing and delivering their ambitious education programme to accompany the 2009 Donmar West End season at Wydham’s theatre.
Sophie is also contracted to Creative Partnerships, the government’s flagship creative learning programme. Working as a Creative Agent for Creative Partnerships Sussex and Surrey, she acts as an ambassador for creative learning with schools, practitioners and arts organisations.
